International Workshop on
Data Analysis of Interlaboratory Comparisons

Berlin, 5-6 December 2002

The Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) is organising – in co-operation with the Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung (BAM) and with support from the Helmholtz-Fonds e.V. and the European funded Thematic Network “SofTools_MetroNet” - a Workshop on Data Analysis of Interlaboratory Comparisons to be held at the PTB in Berlin, Germany. Chairpersons of the workshop will be D. Richter and W. Woeger from the PTB, and W. Haesselbarth from the BAM.

The workshop aims at

  • providing information about the latest developments of the policy of MRA key comparisons and other policies, proposals and recommendations for methods;
  • exchanging experience in the application of data analysis by presenting case studies;
  • helping to understand the benefits of the methods;
  • discussing upcoming methods; and
  • identifying further needs.

Three main sessions are planned:

  • General questions of MRA and other comparisons: recent proposals and recommendations, positions, progress achieved, open questions;
  • Case studies: reports on interlaboratory comparisons focussing on data analysis, methods applied, results achieved, problems detected, lessons learned;
  • Methods and theoretical aspects: new methods, assessment of methods, definitions and notions.

The programme will be based on invitations. It is intended to publish proceedings.
